Would agree about the year thing, its a bit like asking how long is a piece of string. And around 2006 Rolex had roughly 3500 employees in total employed in the whole of the Rolex empire in Switzerland. Now Rolex now make 900000 plus watches a year so do the sums, and Switzerland has one of the highest public holidays in the world.Would think if say half the . 6000 Geneva staff working 8.5swiss hours per day = 51,000 man hours. 51,000/4166= 12.24 available man hrs required to make a single Rolex watch per day based on 1million annual watch production and 6000 full time watchmaking staff. Or 12.24/51000x100% = 0.024% of a typical working day per watch!! There are 12 months in a year, but 13 four week . Does it take a calender year to manufacture a Rolex watch? No way! If you do a "time study" of every manufacturing operation involved in making a Rolex all the way from smelting the steel and/or gold until it's a complete watch in its box with papers, hangtags, etc it MIGHT add up to 2000 man hours which is generally accepted as a "work year". I'd rater get a full cleaning service and replace the click spring beneath the bezel than rather go towards a 0~600 full service. A full service, depending on how backed up your RSC is can take 4 -6 weeks or more. I have heard of some folks in the UK waiting months.
But right now, it's likely too late, OP's AD probably has a long list of customers waiting for their call. Last edited by ganiccus; 23 October 2020 at 12:29 PM.. Reason: clarified statement about OP AD. I've just recently been 'added to the list'.so at about one week I cannot even hazard a real guess.
Posts: 1,959. It's certainly a lot more of a complex process than you would think. It may take only a few days, to a few weeks depending on the type, complexity of the watch. I waited 6 months for my Platinum Super President Day-Date, and am being told 3 - 4 months for a Daytona with pave dial, diamond bezel, etc. According to the Orbita database (click here), it takes 650 to 950 turns of the rotor per day to wind a Rolex fully, depending on the model: "Ordinary" Rolex watches with a ~ 45 hour power reserve: 650 turns per day. Put an order on the Batman on oyster when they showed it at “Basel” and got at june. When i picked that up, i did order an Rolex daytona G/S for my wife and my AD said 4 months, and she got it after 4 months, at the same time i did make an order on a deepsea d-blue, he said before Christmas, but called early december and said february.

Posts: 34,441. A fully wound Sub should have 42 hours of reserve, give or take. You just have to come to grips with the reality that you have a mechanical watch that must be kept wound in order to keep time, whether it is wound manually or by the motion of your body. I thought it will remain white, I can be wrong. Get 1675 if you cannot wait :).
