Based on what I can find to read online I'm finding conflicting opinions regarding the appropriate date wheel for a 1680 submariner circa 1969. Should it be white or silver and if silver, painted or brushed metal. Should it have open 6's except 26 or closed 6's. Silver date wheels were still about then too, as they were being used still in the 16750 when that first came out in the early 80's. I'm not 100% sure when the changeover happened, probably 82-83 but as it's Rolex nobody knows Only some of the earliest 1680s would have come with a silver datewheel. Most & anything serviced by Rolex would have a white wheel. The font is the critical detail. Check out some gens & compare the fonts (slightly serifed) to yours. If it is off enough to bug you, search out a better overlay.
