For those older vintage Seamasters, I'd make sure to pick a strap that's 3mm thin or less--I've got mine on a 2mm strap and it's just right. ("Ultra thin" is a good phrase to search for.) Just my opinion---but those pieces are so elegantly slender, you don't want a strap that detracts from that. I hadn't even considered making sure it's thin . I know that Omega produced an automatic Seamaster De Ville in 1959. But any examples I have found show a different style of hands and different design in the crown. I have found similar hands and crown on later models ( which adds to my confusion). I also am having trouble in understanding the lack of a Seamaster logo on the back of the watch. Dec 30, 2021
For instance I would buy a black dial Seamaster De Ville, but it seems impossible to find an original one, it seems that are all repainted/refurbished. I am not able to open my watch and check inside, but if there are other photos that can help to establish if this Seamaster is authentic or not just let me know and I will post them 😀
